Known Platform Issues - 2009
The Solar System Viewer was written in 1999. It's version of java is not well supported on modern machines.
Mac 10.5.6 w/ Firefox 3.0.6 and Java 1.5.0_16:
Simulation does not appear.
Solution:
Scroll down and the simulation will appear.
Start/stop and adjust speed controls do not work
Solution:
Toggle to another planetary system and back again. Hold down the s, f, or space keys. They still work - just not very well.
Slowest speed for inner Solar System is too fast.
Mac 10.5.6 w/ Safari 3.2.1 and Java 1.5.0_16:
Simulation does not appear.
Solution:
Try Shift reload, toggling to other systems and scrolling. If that fails, try clearing cache and reloading.
Start/stop and adjust speed controls do not work
Solution:
Try holding down the command keys.
