Known Platform Issues - 2009
The Extrasolar Planets application was written in 1999. It's version of java is not well supported on modern machines.
Mac 10.5.6 w/ Firefox 3.0.6 and Java 1.5.0_16:
Simulation does not appear.
Solution:
Scroll down and the simulation will appear.
Start/stop and adjust speed controls do not work
Solution:
Toggle to another planetary system and back again. Then they should work.
Planet labels no longer fit on screen.
Mac 10.5.6 w/ Safari 3.2.1 and Java 1.5.0_16:
Simulation does not appear.
Solution:
Shift reload and the simulation sometimes appears.
Simulation cannot be started/stopped.
Solution:
Toggle to another planetary system and back again. Somtimes that works!
Planet labels no longer fit on screen.
